Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa Dana Point, Dana Point

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, although relatively up to date, were unfortunately located at the end of the hall near the housekeeping entrance; however, there was a strong, unpleasant smell from a mini bar breakdown in the morning. The service, while friendly and helpful, had some issues with professionalism and pricing. The location was beautiful and well-kept, offering spectacular views, but there were some maintenance concerns in the room. Overall, a stay with ups and downs.

The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking Dana Point Marina, Lantern Bay Park, and Doheny State Beach, with plenty to do within walking distance. The rooms had some issues, from a handicapped room without counter space to a regular room blocked by a large pillar in the middle and subpar showers, but overall were decent. The service was not up to standard, with problems accommodating guests checking in by themselves and a lack of preparation in various service areas due to staffing issues. Dining was pleasant with good food and service, while the facilities were satisfactory.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of pleasant and disappointing experiences. The rooms, especially the newly remodeled ones with spacious balconies overlooking the marina and park, were a delight. However, some aspects of the service and dining fell short of expectations despite the stunning location near the sea and great food spots.

Upon arrival, I had to wait for two hours outside my room, but once inside, I found a well-appointed room with a couch and large-screen TV. The room was fully adjustable, allowing for a really cold and powerful setting. The service was very attentive and aware of new guests' arrival, although somewhat overpriced. The location was absolutely wonderful, near great restaurants and spa, with stunning views of the sea and easy access to the beach. The dining experience was superb, offering one of the best buffets I've ever had. The hotel facilities were top-notch, making my stay quite enjoyable.

The hotel offers modern and clean rooms with an outdoor space to hang out. However, the high price does not match the overall experience. The focus on the right room is evident.
